The Philippine Embassy in Beijing is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant / Secretary. The applicant should possess the following qualifications:
1. Filipino citizen
2. University Degree
3. Proficiency in English
4. computer and presentation software skills
5. holder of Z visa
The successful applicant must possess adequate communication skills that will enable him or her to be effective in performing designated duties and responsibilities. He or she must be personable, courteous and dignified in bearing, trustworthy and unassuming in character.
Initiative and resourcefulness are other welcome traits. Chinese language proficiency and experience in events organization will be advantageous.

Applications received by the Embassy before 15 September 2007 will be processed. The Embassy will then decide which applicants to invite for interview and skills evaluation. If deemed necessary, the Embassy may re-open the application process.

INTERVIEW AND SKILLS EVALUATION PROCESS
1. The process consists of three portions: Panel interview, Writing and Office Skills Evaluation and Computer Skills Evaluation.
2. Applicants will be given a maximum of thirty minutes to complete each portion which will be taken separately.
3. The evaluation is arranged to resemble actual office situations. The applicants will be given specific instructions when they begin each portion.
4. The vacancy to be filled is the position of Assistant / Clerk. The responsibilities of the employee include:
a. Assisting officers in data gathering, presentations and other official duties;
b. Performing secretarial and clerical functions for the Executive Officer
c. Helping in the planning and coordination with Embassy personnel and other designated persons for Embassy projects and functions;
d. Performing such other functions as may be required by superiors.
5. The successful applicant is expected to assume the position in October 2007 and is ready to render services on call outside regular office hours.
6. The successful applicant will receive a monthly salary of US$ 700.00, leave credits of 30 days for vacation and 30 days for sick leave per annum, and a year-end bonus of US$ 700.00.
