Donations to Typhoon Reming Victims

   
Once again, our countrymen need your help.    Typhoon Reming has caused tremendous death and destruction, especially in the Bicol region.  Following is information provided by the National Disaster Coordinating Council on the extent of the damage:
   
A. Affected Population
 

• Families — 358480

• Persons — 1649,734

• Barangays -1765 of the 131 municipalities

• Cities — 11 cities in 13 provinces

• Provinces - 13 of Regions lV-A, IV-B and V

• Evacuees — 17,260 families or 84,457 persons in 29 designated evacuation centers

   

B. Casualties

 

• Dead — 543 (Region V-A, IV-B, V

• Injured — 1,861 (Region Iv-A, lV-B, V)

• Missing — 740 (Region IV-A, V)

   

C. Damages

 

• Houses —79, 126 totally and 167,045 partially

• Properties — Php608,350,867.90

• Infrastructure — Php 357,350,000.00;

• Agriculture — Php 251,000,867.90

   

The provinces of Albay, Marinduque, and Camarines Sur have been declared under a state of calamity. 

   
Filipinos in China who would like to assist may wish to take note of the following  priority needs and requirements:
 

Water and sanitation hygiene (drinking water, water purifier, purifying tablets and water containers)

Health – medical teams, medicines, anti-tetanus vaccine

Food – ready to eat food, relief goods, canned goods

Non-food items – blankets, mattresses, candles, mosquito nets, cooking utensils, gas stoves, clothing, hygiene items (bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, alcohol, etc.)

Emergency shelter – tarpaulin tents, GI sheets, construction materials

Logistics and communications – internet access, generator sets, and water purification system

   

Donations and other forms of assistance may be coursed through the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) or the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC).

a.  Name of card member

b.  Billing address

c.  Contact numbers (landline and mobile)

d.  Credit card number

e.  Expiry date

f.   CCV2/CVC2 (last three digits at the back of the credit card)

g.  Amount to be donated (in numbers and words)

   
4. In-kind donations received in good condition and should not be expired and damaged must include the following:
 

a.  A letter of intent to donate should be sent to the PNRC

b.  A letter of acceptance from PNRC will be sent back to the donors after receipt of the letter of intent

c.  The donor should send the PNRC the deed of donation in advance

d.  Immediately after shipping the goods, send the advance copy of the Bill of Lading for sea shipment and Airway Bill for air shipment together with the List of Contents/Items to the PNRC before the shipment arrives in the Philippines.
