Philippines holds First Film Festival on 23 - 29 November in Beijing

As part of the activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China, the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the China State Administration for Film, Radio and Television and the Philippine Embassy will hold the very First Philippine Film Festival from 23 - 29 November 2005 in Beijing. Six international award-winning and critically-acclaimed Philippine films are set to be featured in the week-long activity at the Oriental Plaza’s Star City Cinemas in the Wangfujing area of Beijing. The featured films include Crying Ladies, Jose Rizal, Magnifico, Minsan Pa, Milan and Tanging Yaman.
During the festival, a delegation from Manila led by a national artist, film directors, producers and actors will also meet with counterparts from China’s film sector to discuss areas for further cooperation.
Philippine Airlines which just launched its non-stop flights from Manila to Beijing on 11 November is a major sponsor of this milestone event in Philippines-China relations.
