In Cebu,
with the postponement of the ASEAN Summit from 10-14 December, a
number of hotels expressed a potential low occupancy during the
period. The DOT Overseas Offices and private sector have
immediately contacted travel wholesalers and corporate accounts
whose reservations have been on the waitlist as well as
unconfirmed status due to the scheduled event. In addition, the
local hotels are offering discounted super low rates to guests
which will allow them to experience the new and upgraded
facilities and services invested on by the participating
properties. The combined efforts of DOT and the industry players
have made positive gains in bringing back the groups and now
lifting occupancy levels. |
